Medicine faculty members are part of the U21 Health Sciences Group since its creation in 2000.
Throughout the years, medicine colleagues discussed a large number of topics of interest such as clinical academics of the future, recruitment of national and international students, hospital-university relations, medical and interprofessional education, global health, internationalisation, etc.
To see the topics discussed and presentations, please see the Medicine Group reports from each annual meeting:

To provide a forum to enable the Deans to discuss and debate matters that are core to the successful running of medical schools and health faculties, a first Deans meeting was organised by Prof. James Angus (Melbourne) and Prof. Iain Martin (Auckland) in the framework of the U21 Health Sciences meeting in Monterrey, in order to reaffirm the leadership role of the Deans in the running and sustainability of the U21 HS group. It has been decided to run this meeting on an annual basis to allow Deans to engage with their peers. The main challenge is to bring back to the table Deans from U21 universities who have played a major role in the group, and engage new Deans.
The second edition of the Deans Meeting took place in the framework of the U21 HS annual meeting in Seoul on Thursday 29 September 2011. It is anticipated that a third edition will take place in September 2012 in Auckland.
